You’re trying to find your physical place in the wedding industry.

You’ve tentatively added ‘based in’ to your Instagram bio and crossed your fingers, but you keep hearing the same thing:

Wait, you do Italy/my venue/Surrey too!? If I’d known that before I booked, I’d definitely have chosen you.”

It hits harder every time you hear it, especially when you see another one of your wedding industry frenemies working in your dream location again on your mid-morning scroll. Other wedding pros seem to be getting plenty of work there, and despite you posting aspirational content in the hopes that couples will get the message, your inbox is still full of enquiries for random places you’re not sure how you became associated with.

Each wedding season is bittersweet - you’re getting enquiries and doing lovely weddings with lovely couples, but the more weddings you do in the ‘wrong’ places, the further it feels like you’re drifting from the right ones.

Going all-in on your location goals feels risky, because what if you scare off the clients you’re already getting? Besides, there are already enough florists/wedding planners/cake makers/stationery designers/jewellery and garment designers working there - it’s oversaturated and unrealistic.

Before you know it, another wedding season passes and you’re still not considered the authority on that spot, despite you knowing that you can do an absolutely phenomenal job there.

You know deep down that a 12-point font mention of a place in your website footer, that directory listing that doesn’t bring in any enquiries, and the location tag in your bio are just not enough.
